There is a change being proposed by the US postal service that may have an impact on your ecommerce business if you use the US Postal Service. The US Postal Service announced on Tuesday a plan to possibly scale back delivery services to a 5 day week thus eliminating delivery on Saturdays. If you are not offering some level of free shipping to your customers, chances are you are losing sales to your competitors that do. During Q3 2009, 42 percent of all e-commerce transactions completed in the U.S. included free shipping, up from 31 percent in Q1 2008. This was according to ComScore and can be seen in the following graph:

This is a question I am asked every now and again. Almost all items I ship to these territories ship out via the U.S Postal Service. The postal service treats all U.S. territories as Domestic locations. This means you do not need to follow any additional rules and restrictions that are different from within the United States.
