1. 35 Million moms were online in 2008 (18% of the internet population)
2. 86% of moms go online regularly
3. Generation Y moms spend 8 hours online per week. (4 hours per week in social media)
4. 70% of moms online participate in online communities.
5. Moms are 21% more likely than the rest of the general online population to blog.
6. 60% of conversation among pregnant and new moms carries with it a recommendation to buy, try, or consider.

According to HitWise, an Experian Company, entertainment-related products received the greatest share of referrals from social networks. Great news if you are in this industry and are using social networking as part of your overall marketing strategy.

Here are the categories with the highest referrals:
