Encourage Impulse Buyers With Limited Time Offers

One technique that often encourages buyers to take an action to buy is to periodically throw in a “Limited Time Offer” action. Limited time offers are basically used in conjunction with a sales. A simple message on the page indicates time remaining before the offer expires. For example, “Only 2 days left!” or “Purchase by April 1st to take advantage of this low price”.

The reason this works is that there’s a time limit. “Only 2 days left!”, is a call to action before the sale expires. It is more effective than just advertising something like “Take 10% off”.

But be careful when using Limited Time Offers. An advertised limited time offer really needs to expire. Otherwise, you lose the trust of your customers. You also do not want to overuse them or they lose effectiveness.
