The Internet Retailer 2010 Conference & Exhibition Is Now Open For Registration
The 2010 Internet Retailer Convention is now open for registration. If your looking for an outstanding convention dedicated exclusively to online retailers, this is your conference to attend. This year, it is being held June 8th-11th in Chicago, Illinois. I last attended in 2008 when it was also held in Chicago and I can tell you from personal experience, I learned more in this 4 days than several months of doing it on my own. In fact, the techniques and knowledge I gained during this conference significantly increased sales, just in the first 2-3 months I got back. And not all came from the sessions.
The workshops, sessions, and speakers are outstanding. But even more importantly, this is the best opportunity you will have to meet with some of the industries best speakers, business owners, and people who really succeed at what they do. The conference is very well done, and there is plenty of time for networking, and interacting with your peers should you take advantage of the opportunity. And you should! I met one gentleman, who owned (at the time, still growing) 16 ecommerce sites, that specialized in hardware, tools, and home improvement products. Each site was a niche site and all ran on a common platform, with a common call center staff and shared warehousing facilities. Some of his sites did as little as low hundred thousands per year all the way up to several million per year. I had the opportunity to talk with him for over an hour during our lunch. How often do you get to pick the brain of someone like that? What would you pay for that opportunity? It was free (well minus the cost of the convention… ) but you have to seek these people out.
This year, I would like to organize an informal networking event for any readers of this blog who would like to get together during the conference, for an opportunity to discuss challenges and meet others who can help solve them. I plan on attending all days again this year. If you are interested, let me know.
